Terms of use

By using Home Service Pros 247 you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Information only

The site provides general information about home equipment. A decoded date is the date that a published serial-number format encodes. It is not a statement by the manufacturer, a warranty determination, an appraisal or an inspection. Confirm the age against the rating plate or with the manufacturer before you rely on it for a purchase, a sale, an insurance claim or a repair decision.

Calculators are estimates

The sizing calculators give estimates from reference tables, rules of thumb and standard formulas. They are not a load calculation, an engineering design or a substitute for the judgment of a licensed contractor. Equipment must be selected and installed to the manufacturer’s instructions and the codes that apply where you live.

Safety

Gas, electrical and refrigerant work is dangerous and in most places requires a licence. Nothing on this site is an instruction to open, repair or modify equipment. Switch equipment off before removing a panel to read a rating plate, and call a qualified technician if you are unsure.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. We work to keep the information accurate and we correct errors we are told about, but we do not guarantee that any format, date, figure or calculation is complete, current or free of error.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Home Service Pros 247 is not liable for any loss or damage that results from using the site or relying on its content.

Trademarks

Brand and product names are the property of their owners. They are used on this site only to identify the equipment a serial number belongs to. Home Service Pros 247 is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

Advertising and referrals

The site may show advertising and may be paid when a reader requests quotes from a service provider through it. Such links are marked. Service providers are independent businesses, and any work you agree with them is between you and them.

Using the content

You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link to the source. Please do not republish the format tables or the decoder in bulk without permission.
